Losing Weight Slowly

I have been on a focused drive to loose some of the pregnancy weight that I have come to accept and almost resign to having. My current Body Mass Index is 24.93 and the highest it has been ever. Many will say this is still healthy, and it is, but I would prefer to be down at the 18.5 BMI end where I was, which means dropping 20.5kg although I would settle for 19! There have been no aerobics at 6 or 7am, no protein shakes, no 10km bicycles rides and no Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig!

No, I am on the slow road. It's not that I wouldn't do all those other things but with 4 children I don't get a chance. I did have a thought to hire an exercycle or borrow one that may be stashed in someones garage.

The one activity that I have been doing is jumping on the scales every morning and charting my score. Not exactly earth-shattering stuff but I am sharing those scores with you to give you hope that eventually it will come down. I have tried on occasion a bit of chitosan but am not sure this is really helping and forget to chart it!

Oh, and the most obvious thing I have not been doing that has helped is over-eating. I have consciously eaten a wee bit less than I usually do but not to the extreme of feeling hungry between meals. I did try snacks between meals in the hope that I wouldn't eat so much at the meal but that did not work and contributed to my second yo-yo, so have gone back to 3 mains a day. I figured out that I rebound on the weekends so have to be a little more vigilant then.

I read what appears sound advice that in order to loose weight at a pound (453.592 grams) a week, you need to loose 3500 calories - if you work that on a 7 day week then that is 500 calories a day; and that it is better to divide this between exercise and diet to try and prevent yo-yo'ing.

So I haven't quite got the exercise bit, okay, I have it there as a backstop and it just means that I will be slower at this.

Anyway here are the first months figures.

DateWeight (in kg)Up or downChitosan?
79
28/0278.4
29/0278.2
01/0378
02/0378.4+yes
03/0378.7+
04/0378.2 yes
05/0377.9
06/0377.7
11/0378.1+
19/0377.7
21/0377.6

Which translates to 6.8% of the ultimate total or 7.3% of the acceptable goal weight in a month. At this rate I will be going about 14 months. Now that should be enough to spur me on to add some exercise. Then perhaps in 7 months time I will be where I want to be. Hmmmmph...so there is more effort to it than I first thought!!!
