Recently I was thinking about what could help me explain to someone, who was open to a different perspective on christianity, where I was heading.

Everyone gets something different from what they read or watch depending on what they bring to it - their background and experiences.

So I opened up a thread at The God Journey in an attempt to create a list of books, downloads, mp3's and videos that they would recommend to someone that would walk them through the journey from institutional church to life outside the walls (from going to 'a church' to being 'the church').
