Out with the old and put a hold on the new
In my attempt to simplify my life and family, I have been sorting out, big time.
At the start, it was a mental challenge just trying to work out how exactly I was even going to get at the stuff that needed sorting; and was definitely a case of things had to give. Or it would be better noted that I had to give....I needed to make room.
So one gloriously sunny Wednesday I let our group of home-schoolers know that I was having a 'free sale' - take what you needed. Granted I had the momentum of my parents coming to stay the next day, but still, this concurred with my master plan.
So at the end of the day where one solitary home-school mum turned up, we donated the rest to a friends charity outreach to Africa, (I got him to back up his 4-tonne(?) truck and it left fully loaded).
With all that gone, I could fit a variety of larger items that I did eventually want to sell, but that were stored inside the house, into the garage too. Win, win!
For those new to the blog, I posted about the questions I asked myself as I was sorting, in this previous post 'Sorting Out'. There is more to say on this topic that will give you a glimpse inside my heart and head, so I will see how I can draw all the orbiting thoughts together and post tomorrow.
