It's the small things

Sometimes you don't know what you are missing out on until you have it or perhaps you don't know what a luxury something is.

What I am talking about is as simple as being warm.

Today we went out on one of the coldest days where there was ice at sea level - totally unheard of in my lifetime, and I finally bought socks and tights.

It was something that hadn't been on my top priority list seeing that I tend to put my needs behind everyone elses, but as I only have one pair of trousers and the rest of my separates are half or 3/4 length skirts it was necessary.

I came home and slipped into these bulky knit fairisle mid-calf socks and felt truly comfortable...warm and comfortable, thick and spongy.

[There is some concern over them being made in Nepal at probably a low labour charge though. :( ]

Why is it that we deny ourselves as mothers? Or am I the only one?
